Quick Review: Tommy Guns Smooth & Finish Crème

Tommy Guns Smooth & Finish Crème* has been an amazing addition to my hair care collection. My hair has absolutely no natural shine and is seriously lacklustre, so this crème is what I’ve been using to breath a bit of life into my locks.

It contains jojoba oil and vitamin E, which give the hair a nice, glossy shine whilst moisturising and protecting. It’s perfect for defrizzing when I’ve just blow-dried my hair and it’s looking really fluffy. Plus it smells amazing too.

My only issue with this is that it can be a little heavy. It needs to be applied quite sparingly or it can make your hair feel quite weighed down. The upside to that though is that 100ml will last for ages, and at £6.15 it’s a bit of a bargain.

Tommy Guns Smooth & Finish Crème is available to buy from ASOS, priced at £6.15 for 100ml.

#LiveBloggers Review: Nip + Fab Pistachio Sundae Body Butter

Back again with another LiveBloggers review, this time it’s the Nip + Fab Pistachio Sundae Body Butter*.

As someone with dry skin I absolutely love body butters, body oils and dense moisturisers, so when I saw this I thought that I’d fall in love with it. Body Shop body butters are definitely favourites of mine so I assumed they’d be similar.

Consistency wise, Pistachio Sundae is gorgeously thick. The green colour did put me off somewhat, I mean, it doesn’t look tempting does it?

If the colour wasn’t bad enough, the smell is; I really don’t find it pleasant. I didn’t think that pistachios really had a scent so I’m guessing it’s artificial (?!). I personally think it smells like biscuits and nuts – in a bad way. I tested it (against my better judgement!) and after 10 minutes I had to jump back in the shower, as the smell just seemed to intensify. In any other scent I’d love that – Mango Smoothie, Cherry Tarte, Coconut Latte? Yes please. Pistachio Sundae? No, ta.

Aside from the scent the body butter itself is pretty darn good. It contains mineral oil, which I’m really not a fan of, so for that reason I probably wouldn’t buy any of the other scents. But that’s mainly because I tend to avoid mineral oil as I don’t think it has any skin benefits and I prefer rich, natural oils on my skin.

Whilst this is a pretty negative review, don’t be put off by it. If you’re not so fussed about the ingredients then definitely give the range a whiff as they smell gorgeous.

Bottom line: It’s just not by cup of tea. I wouldn’t repurchase, but I don’t take my opinion as gospel as it all boils down to personal preference.

Nip + Fab Pistachio Sundae Body Butter is available from Boots and Feel Unique, priced at £8.49/200ml. Other scents in the range include Mango Smoothie, Cherry Tarte and Coconut Latte.

#LiveBloggers Review: Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Protectant Cream

I know this product has been reviewed into oblivion so I’m going to keep this one short, but after receiving this in my #LiveBloggers goody bag it’s safe to say I’m in love. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Protectant* is literally a Godsend – especially with the cold weather rolling in.

The uses are endless – cuticles, hangnails, lips, heels, elbows, knees, burns, eyebrows, cheekbones, cuts, scrapes – need I continue? I’m in love.

The smell is a bit strange, some people say it’s quite medical whereas I’d say it’s a lot like wax. It’s available in a scent free version though, so there’s alternative available if you’d prefer.

Bottom line: It’s amazing. Pricey, yes. But still amazing. It does contain mineral oil, which annoys me a little, but aside from that it’s good stuff.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Protectant Cream is available from Boots, Debenhams and Feel Unique with prices ranging from £20 to £25 for 50ml. However I’ve found it on the Cheap Smells website, priced at £15.95/50ml – bargain!
