Review: Macadamia Deep Repair Masque

I’ve been chemically straightening (relaxing) my hair since I was six and it’s a process that really dries it out. In terms of strength it’s a lot similar to bleaching, so I essentially bleach my hair every six or so weeks.

Conditioners, treatments and masks are an important part of my hair care regimen, as I need rich items to treat my brittle hair. I’ve been wanting to try Macadamia Deep Repair Masque* for a while as I’ve heard great things about it, and it definitely lives up to the hype.

It’s really thick and has got a really fresh smell (like granny smiths!) that lasts even after you’ve washed your hair. When it comes to hair masques this is probably one of the best I’ve tried.

It’s so moisturising, to the point where it can almost be counterproductive. You only need a little bit, and I’d personally say it’s best to apply straight to your driest areas which for me would definitely be my ends.  I love the fact that it doesn’t need to be left on for long so it’s great for when you’re in the shower.

My only issue with it comes from the mistake I made when I first used it. I’m used to applying a lot of product since my hair is so dry, but it’s really not needed with this. If you use too much you’ll find that your hair will probably get very greasy (not an issue for me!) or feel too moisturised.

Bottom line: It’s a great treatment if you’ve got particularly dry hair and I’ll definitely be re-buying, although I can see this last for quite some time.

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque is available from buy from HairTrade.com, priced at £18.99/250ml.
